Walk to Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park

About the event

The first week of May marks Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week. This is a week-long campaign devoted to talking about mental illness during the perinatal period. With perinatal mental health problems affecting up to one in five women during pregnancy and up to one year after birth, we want to help support the amazing work done in our local community to support the wellbeing of parents.

We will be running a charity walk, walking from Kingston Gate, Ham Gate or Richmond Gate through Richmond Park, ending up at Pembroke Lodge for tea and cake in their Woodland Garden.

We have invited a series of experts to join you on your walk, to talk about all aspects of wellness, as well as mental health, providing advice and guidance, or just a good old chat whilst walking.

  • Dani Folkard, People Manager and Founder of The Working Mum Co
  • Meg Murray Jones, Reflexology and Founder of Postpartum Plan

Please reach out to hello@babytalk.uk with any further questions.

How many parents are you expecting to attend?

We want to bring together 50 parents and raise over £250 for our chosen charity.

Yes, although the walks from Kingston and Ham gates aren’t neatly paved all of the way.

How long does it take to get to Pembroke Lodge from the starting points?

Kingston Gate - 30 mins

Ham Gate - 20 mins

Richmond Gate - 10 mins

What time does the walk start?

We ask that you make sure that you are at the relevant gate to start your walk at 10.30am. This means that the groups will all arrive at Pembroke Lodge at slightly staggered times. Our team at Pembroke Lodge will show you where to go on arrival, and make sure you have a tea/coffee and cake when you arrive.

What is there to do when we arrive at Pembroke Lodge

As well as having a hot drink/bite to eat, we have invited a selection of wellness experts to join you, to provide advice and guidance and answer your questions.

Can I bring my baby/toddler?

Yes of course, little ones are welcome at all of our events (we usually expect parents to have their little ones with them).

What is included in the ticket price?

Included in the ticket price is tea/coffee and cake in and a £5 donation to CHARITY. There will also be a goody bag on arrival at Pembroke Lodge.

What if I have dietary requirements

We will ask for these ahead of the event.

You are welcome to make your own way back at a time that works for you, or our hosts will be making the walk back at 12.30 after the event.
